Eco Warriors

Last Wednesday, our Eco Warriors have been working really hard in the kitchen garden. They have planted a range of seed and plants, repaired the planters and have been doing lots of weeding. They have done an amazing job!

Thank you to everyone who kindly donated any seedlings and seeds!

Nursery

The nursery have been enthusiastically brushing our teeth after lunch following the NHS’s new push on healthy teeth for children. We use Monty the ‘big mouth’ to demonstrate good brushing. The scheme is called ‘The Big Brush Club’ and the aim is to get children in both nursery and reception to brush their teeth during the school day to tackle tooth decay.

Year 2 Multi skills

Last Thursday, some Year 2 children took part in Multi Skills at the Astro. All of the children took part enthusiastically and had a great time!

REMINDER: Coffee Mornings for parents of children with SEND at HPS

Tuesday 30th April 9am-10:30am – Speech and Language Development in the Early Years.

This is a repeat of last term’s workshop, this time with a real focus on our youngest children (those in Nursery, Reception and KS1). This workshop would also be of interest to parents of older children. Do come along to find out more about how to support your child’s speaking, listening, communication and social interaction. Our coffee mornings are informal, friendly sessions and are open to anyone whose child is on our SEN register. Toddlers and babies are welcome to join us. Our workshops are positive and collaborative sessions, so that parents feel both supported and better informed. We always find time for a drink and a biscuit too!

Tomorrow's meeting will be hosted by Mrs Alphey, our SENDCo, and Miss Ford, our Assistant SENDCo.

Exmoor Challenge

A huge congratulations to all eleven Year 6 children, who got up early again for their final training walk, all completed the challenging 16.1 miles over Exmoor National Park. Despite the weather, they dug in deep climbing steep hills, undulating moorland and maintain high spirits. A Superb effort by all, a very tough decision to select our eight representatives for this weekends annual Exmoor Challenge. The successful members will be notified today and all participants who completed the training will be celebrated in this weeks assembly on Friday. Miss Higginson, Mr Soper and Mrs Soper are really proud of you all the children and have enjoyed helping them prepare for the big day. A big thank you to all of the parents for their continuous support.
