Early Years Nursery Photo Gallery 2022/23

Tesco Donation

Thank you to Tesco’s for donating £330 to Nursery to help develop our garden and vegetable plot. We are looking forward to buying some more plants, sprucing up our walled pallets and equipment for our Mini adventurers.

The Nursery continue to care for their plants and have now re potted them into our vegetable plot. We enjoyed being really careful with the roots and planting them into our garden. We are watering them everyday and checking them for bugs. We are developing our outside area to accommodate all the plants we have successfully grown. We can’t wait to taste the fruit and vegetables we have grown.

People who help us- Fire service visit

Last Wednesday the children in reception and nursery had a very special visitor. We welcomed Gelvin Williams, a local firefighter to talk to the children about his role and responsibilities. He talked to the children about what the Fire and Rescue service do and how the emergency services can be contacted by dialing 999. Gelvin said that his most common call out for fires was to do with people who are distracted when cooking and then things set on fire. He said that electrical fires were on the increase and talked about the importance of not charging devices such as mobile phones or Ipads overnight. Part of Gelvin’s role is to educate home owners about the importance of fire safety. He talked about fire alarms and how to check they are working. Mrs Bard got to try on some of the Fire PPE (personal protective equipment). The boots and helmet were very heavy and the clothing was thick and hot! The children asked lots of really sensible questions and learnt where the nearest fire station was and a little bit of science about how to stop fires from spreading. All children received a sticker and we shared the story of “Frances the Firefly” to highlight the importance of being safe around fires.

The Little Red Hen

We all enjoyed the Little Red Hen story and wanted to make our own bread to eat. We helped to add the ingredients and mixed everything together. We all got to eat our own bread roll which was delicious.

Cleaning our pond

We have been busy helping to clean our pond. We used brushes and nets to take out any rubbish. We want our fish to enjoy swimming in our clean pond. It was so much fun!

Outside fun

We have builders working in our school and we have been watching them constructing our new roof. We have made our own balance bridges to climb and move safely across.

Pancake Day

We all enjoyed making Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday

Rosie’s Walk

We have been enjoying the story and can retell it using props. We used the language of under, behind, next to and over to describe the walk.

World Book Day

We all enjoyed dressing up for World Book day and reading our favourite books.

Planting in Spring

We have planted tomato, beetroot, runner bean, peas and sweetcorn seeds which we have placed in our own propergator. We are hoping to re plant them once they have begun to sprout in our Vegetable patch.
