Homework timetable

Reading is an important life skill and at Heathcoat Primary School we strive to help all the pupils to develop a love of reading.

We would encourage children to read to themselves daily at home for enjoyment and would recommend that parents listen to their child read aloud at least three times a week, discussing what has happened in the story. Just 5 minutes a day can make a huge difference.

Reading is such an enjoyable and important part of everyday life –and even reading packaging, instructions, a magazine or TV guide is practising and developing reading skills.
